LEXMARK CLOUD AUTHENTICATION
Readme for version 2.6.42

1. OVERVIEW

This Readme file pertains to the current release of the LEXMARK CLOUD
    AUTHENTICATION application.

Lexmark Cloud Authentication is an embedded solution that can be installed
on printers that support the Lexmark Embedded Solutions Framework (eSF)
v4.x or v3.x. Cloud Authentication locks out the printer until
a user authenticates with a badge or login credentials. It secures access
to the printer using a user-defined security server.

    b. Memory: The printer must have a minimum of 256MB of RAM.

    c. Card reader and driver: This application requires a card reader and
an appropriate driver for card login. To obtain
these items, go to www.lexmark.com, and then
click "Contact Us" at the bottom of the page.

4. LIMITATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY OF THE RELEASE

    a. The card reader and driver are sold separately. To purchase the card
reader, go to www.lexmark.com, and then click "Contact Us" at the
       bottom of the page.

    b. The card reader and driver do not support MX410 and CX410.

    c. Users must register with a badge through a card reader or have valid login
credentials to use a printer. If a different card reader model is used, then it
may not recognize the badge. Either use the same card reader model, or
register the card again when prompted.

    d. If any authentication applications except Smart Card (for example, PKI and Cloud
Authentication Client) and idle profile applications (for example,
Background and Idle Screen, HD Monitor, and Showroom) are installed
before Cloud Authentication is installed, then these applications may not run.
Uninstall existing authentication and idle profile applications before
installing Cloud Authentication. See the Administrator’s Guide.

    e. Logging in to a printer using Cloud Authentication is not necessary to perform
       host-based printing.

    f. Login Screen Text is limited to 256 characters. Text that is more than 256
characters does not appear properly on the screen.

    g. When the user is logged in and Session Access Control is set and Use Home Screen
Logout is enabled, if the user removes the card reader, then the user cannot log
out using the Log Out button from the home screen. Either attach the card reader
or wait for the device to time out.

    h. Use only one card reader.

    i. Cloud Authentication must not coexist with Card Authentication.

    j. When installing the Cloud Authentication application, disable Background and Idle
       Screen.

    k. In the Cloud Fleet Deployment menu, the Enable Idle Screen setting can be applied
to legacy devices, but not the Pluggable Authentication Module setting.
