1. OVERVIEW

    This Readme file pertains to the current release of the LEXMARK
    TRANSLATION ASSISTANT eSF application.
	
    Lexmark Translation Assistant is an Embedded Solutions Framework 
	(eSF) application that lets you scan documents in an original 
	language, translate them to a target language, and then print 
	or email the translated documents.
	
	This solution uses optical character recognition (OCR) to 
	recognize text in a scanned document and submit it to Azure Cognitive 
	Services for machine translation.

3. REQUIREMENTS

    a. A printer that supports eSF v6.x or later applications.

       Supported eSF v6.x or later printers include:

    b. Memory: The printer must have a minimum of 1GB RAM.

    c. Storage: A printer hard disk or intelligent storage drive (ISD) 
	    is installed. 
	   
    d. Lexmark Cloud Services accounts have been set up for all users. 
	
    e. Translation Assistant is enabled for your organization.

	
4. LIMITATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY OF RELEASE

    * Translation Assistant works best on documents with 
	  plain text that have a white or light background.
		
    * Translation Assistant supports adding a footer text 
	  to all pages of the translated files when on DOCX format only.
		
    * Use PDF on documents with high image content, complicated 
	  layouts, or newsletters.
		
    * The solution only supports Letter and A4 paper sizes.
		
    * Depending on how the OCR process captures the text of an 
	  address or formal name, the translation engine may translate 
	  names and addresses.
		
    * For optimal performance, set device screen timeout to maximum, and 
	  limit the scanning to 10 pages at a time.
	
		
5. RELEASE NOTES

    * Added support for new models. 
    * Enhancements and bug fixes.
	
    * Note: These features are available only in the Lexmark 
	  Translation Assistant eSF application.
